Quick report update..............
Frostbite rugby 2008
Forty intrepid rugby players aged from five to fifty took part in the annual frostbite rugby tournament run by Skegness rugby club, to raise funds for cancer research. This year ninety-one pounds was made from entry fees and donations for food. The food consisted of stew and dumplings which the ingredients was donated by Jason Divilly and Hazel Crane.
With a sub zero wind chill a variety of shapes, ages, sexes and skill levels graced the Wainfleet playing fields. Fitness and food consumption levels would surely be tested at this festive period.
Six teams took part in this touch rugby competition. The Pretty Boys, The Tarts (as in jam), The Losers, Odd Bodds, Wanna Be’s and Mini me’s all contested the title. The Pretty Boys won this year and did not lose a game. Their captain Rickie Taylor accepted the tub of roses with heart felt applause. more
